UPPC Takes Lead in Showcasing Uganda’s Investment Potential at Madrid Expo
By Marvin Mutenyo

Kampala, 21st August 2025 – The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) joined the Obutaka Development Forum at the Office of the President as Uganda officially unveiled its delegation to the upcoming Madrid Fruit Attraction Expo 2025, scheduled to take place from September 30 to October 2, 2025, in Spain.

The launch, presided over by Hon. Bright Rwamirama, Minister of State for Agriculture, flagged off about 100 participants who will represent Uganda at the global event. The expo is expected to boost Uganda’s visibility in the fruits and vegetable sector, while emphasizing product quality, shelf life, and production volumes.

In his remarks, Hon. Rwamirama underscored the importance of quality assurance, noting that Uganda must step up crop, meat, and dairy inspections if it is to achieve the desired export standards. He further pointed out that meeting international market demands requires a strong backward linkage with farmers to ensure that the country can sustain high demand.

The Minister further highlighted the critical role of the Ugandan diaspora, urging them to take interest in agribusiness partnerships and investments in farming. He emphasized that potential investors must be equipped with the right knowledge of production costs, including labour, power, and machinery, if they are to make meaningful contributions to the sector.

Hon. Rwamirama also acknowledged ongoing government efforts such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), which he said is already supporting agricultural initiatives aimed at ensuring self-sustainability and quality in Uganda’s produce.

At the launch, the Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) announced its partnership with the Obutaka Development Forum as the official printing and publishing partner for the Invest in Uganda magazine.

“The magazine will not only highlight opportunities in agriculture but will also showcase Uganda’s potential in sectors such as tourism, energy, ICT, infrastructure, and manufacturing, aiming to attract trade and investment to the country,” noted Marvin Mutenyo, Public Relations Officer at UPPC.

UPPC’s timely partnership with the Obutaka Development Forum will enhance Uganda’s visibility on the international scene through the Invest in Uganda magazine, reinforcing the country’s image as a competitive investment and trade destination.
